CJ Dotson & Carter Keane In Conversation

C.J. Dotson is a Northeast Ohio native who now lives with her family upstate New York. She studied English with a creative writing focus at Cleveland State University, and these days she daydreams about having the time and resources to go back to school to study history and mythology instead. She lives in a cabin in the woods, along with her husband, 10-year-old son, and 6-year-old daughter.

Carter Keane resides in and is inspired by the frequently odd and often horrifying state of Ohio. Keane writes books where the monster and the monstrous, in the end, are not the same. Morsel is their debut. Keane’s student loan debt hails from an overly expensive liberal arts college on a hill where they acquired a Bachelor’s of Creative Writing and Environmental Studies. They were radicalized by the one-two-punch of Literary Theory followed closely by a course on Sustainable Agriculture.
